Stomp The Yard

Not really dancing to the rhythm but we caught the little fellow thumping his feet on a public holiday the 10th January 2008. I just fed him his favorite food and went and worked on my computer. Just checking emails and stuff when I heard a strange noise. It came from Bit’s cage but when I looked over everything was normal. The food and water container are in place. The brat poised nicely in the center of the cage. Weird…
The sound came when I diverted my attention back to the monitor. And again I failed to notice anything out of place. But after 3-4 thumps I suspected that it was Bit Bit’s doing. So I watched. For a full minute or two nothing happened. Then suddenly in lightning quick speed he lifted his hind legs an inch plus off the platform and landed back again with a loud thump. Ok he definitely got my full attention.
It was his first time doing it and I was worried that he was scared of something. Read that when rabbits does that, they are either afraid or angry. And being the “prey” animals that they are… it might affect him a lot and might even cause heart attack. I checked around and did not detect any cats or things that would scare him so I believe it was the latter. Perhaps we were not paying enough attention to him for rabbits need lots of love and attention and Bit Bit is sure a sucker for that. Woke gf up and she managed to record a short clip of him in stomping action.
Played with him a little bit more and left him run around the house… it stopped. Guess he enjoys controlling us instead. Lil’ bugger. Does your rabbit thump his/her foot often?
